Museum Aquisition I - Vision of the Colosseum 5B Vest
The first work issued by the Museum.
Museum Acquisition I incorporates The Vision of the Colosseum. The Last Martyr (1885) by José Benlliure y Gil. Printed on natural linen, the painting is held within the garment not as ornament, but as an image carried forward through cloth.
The work was selected for its meditation on memory, endurance, and the traces history leaves behind. Removed from the stillness of the museum, it assumes another life through the act of wearing.
The vest is constructed from two layers of 100% washed linen at 235 GSM, giving the silhouette a considered structure while retaining the natural breathability of the cloth. With wear, the linen will soften, crease, and acquire a character particular to its owner.
Subtle darts shape the silhouette, while an exterior pocket and concealed interior pocket offer quiet utility. Natural resin buttons complete the construction without drawing attention from the linen or the artwork.
Museum Acquisition I is individually handcrafted and released in select regional editions of no more than five garments. Each regional edition is individually numbered and will not be reproduced once complete. Every piece is accompanied by an Acquisition Card recording its edition number, region, and authenticity.

Size measurements
Shoulder: 38 cm
Chest: 52 cm
Length: 67 cm
Due to the handmade nature of each garment, slight variations in measurement may occur. These subtle differences are part of the individual character of each piece.
Care
Dry clean only.
Each garment is carefully folded for packaging and transport. Upon arrival, gentle steaming is recommended to release travel creases and allow the linen to settle naturally before wear. As a natural fibre, linen will continue to develop soft creases through use. These are embraced as part of the garment's evolving character and are not considered imperfections.
Policies
At Alchemilla Artifacts, every garment is handcrafted in small batches using natural materials and artisanal production methods. We embrace the unique character that emerges through this process, and no two pieces are exactly alike.
Because of the limited nature of our production and the handmade construction of our garments, all sales are final. We do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations for reasons including, but not limited to:
- Change of mind
- Incorrect size selection
- Preference regarding fit, drape, color, or texture
- Natural variations in fabric, print placement, stitching, or finish
- Minor irregularities inherent to handcrafted production
Please review all product descriptions, measurements, and garment details carefully before placing your order. If you have any questions regarding sizing or construction, we encourage you to contact us prior to purchase.
Alchemilla Artifacts works exclusively with natural fibers and handcrafted processes. Variations in texture, color, print placement, stitching details, and other characteristics are not considered defects. Rather, they are part of the individuality and authenticity of each piece.
