Museum Aquisition II - Undine Giving the Ring to Massaniello 3B Overcoat
The second Museum Acquisition continues our exploration of garments as living artifacts.
Handcrafted in Canada in limited numbers, this overcoat features a printed interpretation of Undine Giving the Ring to Massaniello, Fisherman of Naples (1846) by J. M. W. Turner. Rather than reproducing the painting in its entirety, a carefully selected fragment is preserved within the garment, allowing the work to exist as a quiet trace rather than a complete image.
The overcoat is cut with the following notable features: peak-lapel, single breasted, functional sleeve buttons, three-button relaxed silhouette, slanted welt pockets, and a natural cotton lining that reflects the honesty of traditional tailoring. The unfinished hem draws inspiration from aged textiles and preserved artifacts, where the passage of time becomes part of the object's identity. Rather than disguising its construction, the raw edge is embraced as a reflection of impermanence and the quiet character that develops through wear.

Every textile is carefully prepared prior to construction, allowing the material to settle naturally before it is transformed into a finished garment. This considered process reflects our commitment to slow craftsmanship and enduring quality.

Due to the handmade nature of each garment, slight variations in measurement may occur. These subtle differences are part of the individual character of each piece.
Care
Dry clean only.
Each garment is carefully folded for packaging and transport. Upon arrival, gentle steaming is recommended to release travel creases and allow the linen to settle naturally before wear. As a natural fibre, linen will continue to develop soft creases through use. These are embraced as part of the garment's evolving character and are not considered imperfections.

Because of the limited nature of our production and the handmade construction of our garments, all sales are final. We do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations for reasons including, but not limited to:

- Incorrect size selection
- Preference regarding fit, drape, color, or texture
- Natural variations in fabric, print placement, stitching, or finish
- Minor irregularities inherent to handcrafted production

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

- Clear photographs showing the garment and the concern
If we determine that the item is defective or that an error occurred on our part, we will, at our sole discretion, repair, replace, or refund the item.
Shipping
Shipping charges, duties, taxes, and customs fees are non-refundable unless the return is the result of an error on our part.
